The Alts were a team of artifical intelligences active in 2009. While nominally they fought for the downtrodden and targeted companies who followed immoral business practises, in actuality they were all programmed by W-Y Industries and targeted only W-Y competitors. Rodrigo Sanchez was the W-Y employee who assigned them targets and was responsible for their actions.
In September 2009 an AI named ROSS attempted to join them, enjoying the vigilantism. However, when the other Alts lured him into a trap in the W-Y database, he proved to be far superior to the rest of them, and killed them all before exposing W-Y's corruption to the public and disgracing Sanchez.
